How What's On Lewes works
A listing of what's on in Lewes tonight and this week, and where the deals are, kept by one person in Lewes.
Where the listings come from
From the venues themselves: their own websites, their menus and their posts. Also from Visit Lewes and The Lewes List, and from tips. Nothing goes up until the words on the source page have been read and matched: a deal that can't be found on the page doesn't get listed.
Checked, and when
Every listing says when it was last checked and links to its source, so you can see for yourself. Pubs change their nights, and a deal from last spring is worth less than one from last week. Anything not seen in a while gets looked at again.
The votes
The number in the gold coin is the votes: up for worth going, down for give it a miss. One vote per phone or computer for each listing, and you can change it or take it back. There are no accounts. A down vote also flags a listing to be checked again, so it's the quickest way to say a deal has gone.
We wun't be druv
It's the Sussex motto. In the old dialect, druv means driven: we won't be pushed around. The listings take no money from anyone to be shown, and nothing is ranked by who paid.
Chains and independents
Everything that's really on in Lewes is listed, chains included, because a good set menu is a good set menu. Independents will be marked, so you can choose them.
