A cosy-pub walk of about 3 km from the station by Friars Walk to Market Street and Eastgate, over Cliffe Bridge and along Cliffe High Street to the Dorset and the Snowdrop Inn on South Street, and back the same way. Six places we've checked for dogs; pick two or three. It is flat once you are over the bridge and never far between stops, so it suits short legs.
The ground
Streets and pavements, flat once you are across Cliffe Bridge: on the map's elevation data the line climbs about 40 metres in all. Our sheet says the Gardener's Arms is not step-free and the Dorset is. Kerbs, narrow pavements and crossings have not been checked on the ground.

The line on the map
Our own line, routed on OpenStreetMap streets between the stops, with BRouter's trekking profile. Not paced out on the ground.
The route is from Lewes Dogs: read it at the source before you go (Stops and dog facts from the Lewes Dogs sheet as checked 30 Sep to 5 Oct 2026. Sights and the line from OpenStreetMap, read 7 Oct 2026.). The line on the map is drawn by Lewes Dogs on OpenStreetMap data (ODbL). With a dog? Lewes Dogs has this walk, with the rules and the livestock.
