A short walk from Lewes station over the river and up Cliffe High Street and steep Chapel Hill to the golf course, out onto Malling Down with views over the town and the nature reserve, past the Martyrs' Memorial, and back down to Cliffe High Street. The page gives km and miles.
The ground
Chapel Hill climbs steeply; an awkward path through trees that often slopes, making it hard to keep your balance; a road that the page says to cross with extreme care; paths by the golf course.
Livestock
The page mentions no livestock. Separately, the Sussex Wildlife Trust's Malling Down page (undated) says sheep and cattle, and occasionally goats, graze the reserve, and that dogs must be on short leads all year.

The line on the map
Inside Malling Down the line goes up and back on one track where the walk makes a small loop, and the main-road stretch past the Cuilfail Tunnel used BRouter's trekking profile because the hiking profile avoids the A26.
The route is from Travel log Lewes (Helpful Bear Ltd): read it at the source before you go (undated). The line on the map is drawn by Lewes Dogs on OpenStreetMap data (ODbL). With a dog? Lewes Dogs has this walk, with the rules and the livestock.
